FELLOWSHIPS

CRIS finances the training of researchers, in collaboration with prestigious medical and scientific institutions.

Oxford Fellowships

The Oxford Fellowships, delivered in partnership with Oxford Cancer, bring together clinical training and cutting-edge research at one of the world’s leading centres for cancer science. The programme supports doctors in training to develop as clinician‑scientists, combining laboratory research with frontline patient care.

Launched in 2022, the fellowships enable selected researchers to dedicate 40% of their time to research while continuing their medical training, helping to accelerate discoveries with real-world impact. The first fellows, Robert Watson and Eleni Louka, began their work in 2023. Following the programme’s renewal in 2025, Casmir Turnquist and Rebecca Ling will join as the next fellows, starting in 2026.

Together, these researchers represent a growing community working at the intersection of science and medicine, driving advances that aim to transform cancer diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes.
