Driving Innovation in Cancer Immunotherapy

The Centre for Immunotherapy of Cancer (CIC) at the Institute of Cancer Research in London is a leading initiative that brings together scientists and clinicians to advance cancer immunotherapy. Its close integration with The Royal Marsden Hospital allows discoveries made in the lab to be rapidly translated into clinical applications.

The centre focuses on immunotherapy, exploring both the different strategies within this field and its combination with other treatments such as radiotherapy, as well as innovative approaches like oncolytic viruses, aiming to make therapies more effective for a broader range of patients.

The funding provided by CRIS Cancer Foundation has been instrumental in supporting the development of the CIC, contributing to the establishment of its research infrastructure and thematic organisation. This includes the development of a strong translational platform based on the systematic collection and analysis of patient samples, enabling the integration of clinical and laboratory research. This support has facilitated coordinated work across multidisciplinary teams and helped attract additional funding and collaborations, further strengthening the centre’s research activity
